With a 160 year tradition of making some of the world's best optics, Zeiss Optics is well known as a premiere manufacturer of high end scopes, binoculars, rangefinders and more. The outstanding quality of Zeiss Binoculars, Zeiss Riflescopes and Zeiss Spotting Scopes have wowed the public for years. A few things set Carl Zeiss Optics apart from the competition. First, many of the standard practices used by other companies today were developed by Carl Zeiss, such as mathematically calculated optics for microscopes, which provide unparalleled consistent quality. Zeiss Optics has also developed new forms of glass that are clearer and sharper, while also more cost efficient. Their scientific approach to advancing the optical world has earned Zeiss a place at the top, and they continue to push forward today.
Carl Zeiss started making microscopes in 1846, and after 20 years he began a legendary collaboration with Ernest Abbe, who revolutionized the manufacturing process of optics, which allowed Zeiss to quickly become one of the world's biggest produces in the optics industry. World War II split Zeiss into two companies, but with the political changes in 1989-1990 the East and West Zeiss companies were able to reunite into today's Carl Zeiss Sports Optics. With an international workforce of over 24,000 employees in more than 30 countries Zeiss continues to follow their motto of "We Make it Visible." With such a diverse workforce spread across the world, in 2003 Zeiss started "Innovation Days," where the best and brightest engineers are brought together to discuss new ways to push the world of optics forward. Focused on innovation and maintaining their position as the best in the optical world, Zeiss continues to pursue optical perfection and making the world visible.
