These preassembled filtration devices remove particulates from samples, and replace syringe-coupled filtration devices with single, disposable units. Autovials are comprised of a 12mL capacity filter barrel and a plunger. Autovials feature an integral filter, built-in air purge, and a support stand that protects the recessed male slip Luer tip. Many models come equipped with a glass microfiber prefilter for easy filtration of viscous and high-particulate samples.

Available with a variety of filter media: use glass microfiber membranes for viscous or high debris samples containing aqueous or organic solvents with a pH range of 3–10; nylon membranes when filtering samples containing aqueous or organic solvents with a pH range of 3–10; PTFE membranes for samples containing more than 50% organic solvent; and low nonspecific protein binding PVDF membranes for aqueous solutions, and less than 60% organic solvent or aqueous/organic solvents.
