Ideal for use in educational and industrial settings. Meets metallurgical and petrographic requirements. Single diopter adjustment of ±5 diopters, 10x widefield eyepieces, and interpupillary distance adjustment of 53–75mm offer viewing versatility. The quintuple reverse pitch objective turret mounts 4x, 10x, 25x LWD (long working distance), and 40x LWD planachromatic objectives, as well as a 60x achromatic objective standard. Focus is controlled via graduated coaxial coarse/fine focus controls with tension and focus stop adjustments. A graduated mechanical stage with coaxial vertical substage controls allows movement of specimen as desired. Dual illumination is standard. A 1.25 N.A. Abbe condenser with iris diaphragm and swing-in auxiliary lens works in conjunction with the field diaphragm to provide quasi-Kohler transmitted illumination. The reflected illumination features a centerable lamp socket and aperture diaphragm as well as a polarizer for solid material inspection. Both illuminators are 6V, 20W variable halogen lamps. Transmitted illumination can be modified by blue, neutral, and polarizing filters.
