Designed for performing blood and other basic separations. Supplied complete with rotor, centrifuge accepts 15mL conical-bottom and 10mL round-bottom tubes directly. Two preset speeds allow for quick production of platelet poor plasma for coagulation studies (high speed) and platelet rich plasma for agglutination studies (low speed). Other applications include urine sedimentation, preparation of chemistry analyte samples, and pelleting of cultures or genomic DNA.
Operation is controlled by a 15 minute timer. Speed is set to high or low by pressing the rocker switch. Once the rotor starts spinning, the lid of the centrifuge locks, preventing access to the chamber while the unit is in operation. When the rotor comes to a stop, the lid lock is released.
This compact unit is only 22cm (811/16") wide, allowing it to fit on a crowded bench. The molded housing is rugged and easy to wipe clean. Centrifuge includes a 6x15mL, 30° fixed-angle rotor.
