The Vixen ED81S with Porta II Mount gives excellent optical performance with a short optical tube for easy handling. Paired with the Porta II mount you have a quality pick up and goimage combination. ED81S Scope w/ Mount from Vixen is a great start up package. The Vixen Telescope ED81S has the combination of better color correction from the new ED glass and brighter images from it's fast f / 7.7 focal ratio to satisfy the most demanding visual astronomer or astro-photographer. The telescope tube is very stable yet light weight. With the adaptability of the Vixen system you can have the best of both worlds by just moving the telescope from one mount to another.
