Designed for molecular biology applications, this grating spectrophotometer features built-in RNA/DNA, oligonucleotide, protein, and optical density (OD) analysis software so that results can be obtained quickly and accurately. Programs include ssDNA, dsDNA, RNA, oligonucleotide calculations, and protein analysis by Bradford, Lowry, Biuret, B.C.A., and direct-UV methods. The analyzer offers method storage, photometric operation, and a selectable wavelength range of 198–1000nm. When powered on, the unit automatically calibrates at three wavelengths, assuring optimal operation. A five-button keypad and large LCD allow for effortless interfacing, including sending results and GLP-compliant information to a printer or a PC through the RS-232 port. A xenon lamp provides a broad spectral source of high-energy light using a high-speed flashing function that extends lamp life and lowers operation costs. The analyzer is lightweight, compact, and can fit easily anywhere in the lab.
