Rudy Project Lens Technology The color of any lens plays a critical role in the management of light. and visual acuity and can aid in glare reduction and elimination of UV rays. The variety of colors and shades of RudyProject lenses helps to enhance or preserve the perception of colors, contrast and visual acuity. Defferent lens can aid in glare reduction and elimination of UV rays. Every shade of a RudyProject sunglass lens and every treatment applied to them holds a specific function and purpose that allows you to manage your light conditions to meet the demands of your environment or activity.

Solar Radiation and Eye Care

Light is an electromagnetic ray characterized by its wavelength and measured in nanometers (1 nm = one millionth of a millimeter). The ultraviolet rays (UVA and UVB) are the most dangerous for the eyes. The Rudy Project lenses absorb all of the ultraviolet rays: the residual transmission is less than 0.001% up to 380nm, and less than 0.1% at 385nm (the wave length at which the visible spectrum begins). The Rudy Project lens receives an application of metal ions of chrome or silicon oxide, calculated in such a way as to provide a precise absorption factor.

Anti-Scratch Treatment

Treated by coating with polyxilosane, the lens is hardened by exposure to heat at 120°c. This specific treatment gives it excellent resistance to abrasion and scratching. In fact, Rudy Project lenses are so scratch resistant, Rudy Project offer a Replacement Lens Guarantee.
 

Hydrophobic Treatment

The Hydrophobic treatment facilitates runoff of water droplets from the surface of the lens, maintaining vision free of the typical distortion caused by wearing the glasses in an aquatic environment.

    Engineered for sunny days and bright light conditions, Laser™ lenses provide 400UV protection and come in a wide variety of colors.
    LASER
    The metal oxide "Mirror" coating, offered in blue, bronze, copper, sky and black, transmits only 12% of the light, making these lenses ideal for very sunny days with strong reflected light.     		MULTILASER
    The multilaser series have been developed with a special process implementing very thin "mirror" coatings on the lens surface, improving it's scratch resistance and it's superb cosmetic aspect.
