Safe, reliable cryostats are designed for operator comfort and are adaptable to multiple users and samples. Color-coded levers and graphics guide knifeholder adjustments. A simple, intuitive, multi-lingual touch screen display provides easy instrument operation. The angle of the clamp plate enables easy specimen pick-up.
Cryostats provide fast specimen turn-around time through use of a cryobar with adjustable temperature controls and a dedicated cryobar refrigeration system that rapidly cools specimen to help prevent freezing the artifact. The cryostats cool rapidly from ambient to set temperature in as little as two hours. The "quickheated" specimen release feature allows easy removal of frozen specimen from the cryocassette. FE cryostat features an X/Y orienting head without specimen temperature control. FSE cryostat features an orienting head with specimen holder temperature control that allows for enhanced sectioning of a variety of tissue types.
Microtome is located outside the cryochamber for faster temperature adjustment and ease of decontamination and cleaning. An automated fumigation cycle disinfects the cryochamber. A dual compressor system ensures specimen integrity by keeping specimens frozen if the cryobar fails. A remote alarm alerts user in case of system failure. Multi-level security code protection and lockable heated window prevent unauthorized access and protocol alterations.
A positive locking flywheel prevents injury while working around blade and specimen. The three-level adjustable footrest helps reduce fatigue while sitting or standing. Rounded exterior edges and raised cutting area help prevent back strain while sectioning. Cryostats use CFC-free refrigerants and foam insulation.
Cryostat is CE marked, CSA certified, and UL listed (Standard 3101).

Cryostats are supplied with a specimen head, cryocassettes of various sizes and styles, cryobar with cryocassette identifier and plastic cover, heat extractors, specimen and tool storage shelves, debris tray and brush, and operator manual.
