Coronado H-Alpha Filters include a T-Max de-tuning device. Some events on the Sun, notably active flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs), are extremely fast moving. If such features occur on the disc of the Sun, their high velocity towards the observer results in their wavelength being Doppler shifted shorter than Ha. The T-Max allows the user to de-tune the SolarMax slightly to bring such phenomena into better visibility. The Coronado H-Alpha SolarMax Series Filters for the SolarMax 40, SolarMax 60, and SolarMax 90 are sold in sets. The set includes a front mounted SolarMax Filter and a rear Blocking Filter. The Coronado Ha Filters for the SolarMax 140 do not come with a blocking filter, which must be purchased separately. Almost all telescopes will require an Adaptor Plate in order to attach the H-Alpha SolarMax filter. Please find the appropriate adapter plate in our Coronado Telescope Accessories section.
