Ideal for research, analytical, and life science labs, these advanced spectrophotometers generate accurate and reproducible measurements. Systems feature a focused-beam design to provide optimal results for small samples. A narrow bandwidth allows samples to be scanned with excellent resolution. The units are equipped with a unique touch-screen interface with powerful, easy-to-use software that has a wide range of applications. Up to 50 user programs or methods can be defined and permanently stored for quick recall. Data may be temporarily stored in the system until it is sent to a PC or other device. To assure performance and adherence to specifications, the system employs startup diagnostics and a wide range of system checks. Performance validation tests check wavelength accuracy and bandwidth, photometric accuracy and reproducibility, photometric noise, stray light, and drift. Spectrophotometers feature password protection and USB 1.1 ports for a printer, memory device, and keyboard. Both the UV and visible lamps feature automatic shut-off and independent operation.
Both spectrophotometers are suitable for fixed wavelength, wavelength scan, kinetics/time, and single component analysis (SCA) applications. The DU 730 life science model is equipped with software featuring DNA/protein tools and also handles protein assay analysis, nucleic acid analysis, and dye incorporation.
The sipper module performs quick and convenient measurements of multiple samples without the need to transfer samples to cuvettes. A peristaltic pump draws the liquid into the 350µL flow cell, takes a reading, then discharges the liquid or returns it to the source. The sipper module includes a tubing kit and may be used with the single cell holder or the multi-cell holder. The Peltier temperature control module is ideal for enzyme kinetic experiments or any procedure requiring accurate temperature control. It ensures each sample is measured at a specified temperature from 15 to 50°C (59 to 122°F). The temperature control module should be used with 1cm quartz cuvettes. The multi-cell holder can accommodate 1, 2, and 5cm rectangular cuvettes, as well as 2.5cm (1") round and rectangular cuvettes. The carousel holder has seven positions for 1cm cuvettes (including semi-microcells) and works with the built-in transport mechanism in the spectrophotometers. The single cell holder holds one 50µL microcell. The turbidity cell holder holds one 1cm cuvette.
