The outer shell is made of Copolymer Polypropylene, which is stronger and lighter than similar materials used by Pelican's competitors. The hinges and handles on Pelican dry boxes are made from stainless steel, providing long lasting high performance, even with hard use. And while these dry boxes are tough as nails on the outside, the inside of Pelican waterproof cases have a number of great features for keeping your equipment safe and secure, with extra thick and customizable foam allowing you to perfectly fit your equipment. No harmful jostling will take place during transport. Pelican Transport Cases are watertight, with a polymer o-ring seal and an Automatic Pressure Equalization Valve that releases pressure from the case without letting in water. For greater functionality, Pelican Products, Inc added wheels on select Dry Boxes to allow for easier transportation. Much like the super strong hinges, the wheels have stainless steel ball bearings for greater toughness, and the tire is made of polyurethane, which will not deteriorate from wear and tear as easily as lesser wheels. This gives the user a smoother ride with little to no deterioration over time. We know that you need to safely transport your gear from point A to point B.
