Instant Thin Layer Chromatography (ITLC) media is a faster, more convenient alternative to TLC. These glass microfiber sheets are impregnated with an adsorbent to combine paper's easy handling with the separation capabilities of traditional TLC plates. There is no interference from organic binders.

ITLC-SG is a pure glass fiber sheet impregnated with an amorphous monosilicic silica gel that is slightly acidic. Used for the separation of lipids and other non-polar compounds, ITLC-SG is excellent for the separation of excess radiolabeled reagents from radioisotopes. Developing times are usually less than 20 minutes. Sheets can be easily cut to provide rapid and easy elution.
