The customer is offered a choice of a five- or a three-year Meade Repair Program that is effective from the date of purchase and is inclusive of the manufacturer's warranty. If a product requires service, the customer is provided with a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number, and boxes and ships the product to a Meade Service Center at his or her own expense - return shipping charges are paid under this contract.
- Meade Product Replacement Plan through Meade Sky Assurance Program offers comprehensive replacement plans for products under $200. Your are offered a choice of a five years or three years repair program that is effective from the date of purchase and is inclusive of the manufacturer’s warranty. If the product requires service, you are provided with a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number, and boxes and ships the product to a Meade Service Center at his or her own expense. If the product is found to be defective, the customer will be shipped a product of equal value.
Optional Meade Sky Assurance upgrade : Meade Advance 3-Way Shipping
Meade Sky Assurance offers an Meade Advanced 3-way shipping upgrade on 5-year or 3-year Repair and Replacements plans. Under this plan, you are sent a Meade shipping container with instructions on how to pack and ship your product to a Meade Service Center. All shipping costs are covered by Meade under this contract.
Please note: Meade Sky Assurance Advance 3-Way Shipping 5 Years PAS 501 upgrade is OPTIONAL, and must must be purchased separately, but at the same time as your Meade Sky Assurance 5 Year Extended Warranty Program.
Meade Sky Assurance Coverage Overview- Meade Repair Performance Guarantee: The Mead Performance Guarantee covers parts and labor costs due to defects in workmanship and materials (including normal wear and tear). If the product can’t be repaired, it will be replaced.
- Meade Replacement Plan: The replacement plan is a one-time replacement of the product. The product replacement will be of equal value of the original purchase price made by the consumer.
- The warranty is transferable: All programs Meade Sky Assurance are transferable. There are no charges to transfer the contract. The original owner must request a transfer, in writing, from VAC.
- Meade Sky Assurance Cancellation: The Meade Sky Assurance program is cancelable at any time. The customer can cancel their contract in the first 30 days and receive a full refund less any claims that might have been paid. Cancellations made after the first 30 days are subject to reduced refunds.
- No Lemon Guarantee: If your product is repaired for the same problem three times, we will replace it with a product of equal value of the original purchase price.
- Need more warranty? The Meade Sky Assurance program can be renewed in 3 or 5 year increments for as long as you own your Meade telescope.
- Dedicated Meade Customer Care Center: If you need any service with your product, you should call the dedicated Meade Sky Assurance hotline at 800-291-3392. No contract number or original receipt is necessary when calling the hotline. The Meade Customer Service Representative (CSR) will be able to locate your file by your name or phone number. If your problem cannot be resolved via telephone, you'll be referred for service or issued a replacement based on the terms and conditions of the covered product.
