Meade
has announced its latest
MEADE LXD75 Telescopes,
a line of high-quality equatorially mounted telescopes with
computerized GoTo-type operation (or
electronic operation with computer upgrade optional).
Meade LXD
75 telescope line
includes Schmidt-Newtonians, Schmidt-Cassegrains, achromatic
refractors and a single
Meade Newtonian
telescope model. The new
Meade telescopes feature a
high-performance equatorial mount, heavy-duty, all-metal field
tripod and precision drive system. The
new Meade LXD75
telescope mount holds similarly configured, but
improved optical tube assemblies to that now offered with
Meade
LXD55 telescopes. Meade LXD75
telescopes (8" f/10 Schmidt-Cassegrain,
Schmidt-Newtonian models, Achromatic Refractor models, and a 6"
f/5 Newtonian reflector) are shipped

MEADE LXD75 Telescopes
are using similar optical tube assembly,
but the following are improvements to the previous
Meade
LXD55 telescopes have been made in
Meade LXD75
telescopes.
New Design MEADE LXD75 Equatorial Mount
Designed for high-performance observing and astrophotography,
Meade LXD-75 telescopes set a new
Meade standard in their price class
for sturdiness, precision operation, and smoothness of movement.
With the MEADE LXD75 telescope line,
Meade engineers have created a virtually
backlash free equatorial mount incorporating heavy-duty castings
and four high-precision stainless steel ball bearings in both RA
and Dec axes.
New Design MEADE LXD 75
Telescope Drive System
The reliable MEADE LXD75 drive system has enhanced precision alignment
of the motor gear assembly for greatly reduced backlash and
tracking smoothness.
New Design Meade Heavy-Duty Tripod
for LXD75 Meade Telescopes
The new Meade heavy-duty, all-metal field tripod utilizes a locking spreader bar (with three
1.25" eyepiece holders) to lock each leg in place, virtually eliminating
flexure. Each leg has two
anodized aluminum leg extension locks with an internal brake to
eliminate slipping of the internal extending leg. These locks
are inward facing so that no accidental bumping of the leg locks
can occur.
New MEADE Optical Tube Assembly
Meade's diffraction-limited
pptics of
Meade
Schmidt-Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes
yields stellar images over an extremely wide
field-of-view. The MEAD LDX75 Schmidt
Newtonian
telescopes (6" f/5, 8" f/4, and 10" f/4) and
the Achromatic Refractors (5" f/9, and 6" f/9) are supplied with
an upgraded Meade 8x50 viewfinder, and the standard precision
all-metal 1.25"/2" O.D. rack & pinion focuser. The
Meade refractors
also have improved metal dew shields and heavier duty objective
cells. In addition, like the Meade 6"
refractor, the
Meade 5" telescope has had a
system of collimation screws added to the main objective cell.
A new attractively priced Meade 6" f/5
Newtonian reflector with
6x30 viewfinder joins this series and
Meade 6" telescope is available with the
original Meade EC
controller or the Meade #497 Autostar Controller as standard
equipment.
MEADE Autostar Controller
The Meade AutoStar
GoTo controller helps you quickly
find objects in the night sky.
You can locate planets, stars,
galaxies, nebulae, and comets with a
push of a button. Mead AutoStar
is pre-programmed with over 30,000 night sky
objects and several guided
tours. The
Meade AutoStar controller is not included
with the EC models of the
Meade LXD75
telescopes, but it can be purchased
from OpticsPlanet.com and installed
any time later
.
Meade Schmidt-Newtonian and Schmidt-Cassegrain
telescopes are manufactured and tested
