 Meade DS-2000 Series Telescopes Meade Instruments is proud to announce the release of the DS-2000 Telescope line. These Meade DS-2000 Telescopes are fully computer-guided GoTo scopes. The Telescopes include the #494 AutoStar Controller with its database of over 1400 objects. Also included is the Generation II DS-2000 Mount for better accuracy and tracking. The telescope 's finderscope, called the SmartFinder LNT module, has multi-coated optics. For performance, these telescopes give amazingly crisp views of the moon, planets, bright clusters, and nebulas. The mount and optics are designed by Meade engineers in Irvine, CA. Many features from higher priced Meade Telescopes find their way into the DS-2000 series. With Meade 's engineering throughout the telescope, these DS-2000 telescopes are affordable, yet also have the quality of telescopes that cost hundreds of dollars more. * ATS-TC models have all the same high quality features as ATS-LNT models, except for the LNT Module. The LNT Module automatically levels the telescope and points it north, whereas ATS - TC Telescopes have to be manually leveled and pointed north prior to the alignment process.

The Meade DS-2000 Generation II mount provides great accuracy on automatic "Go-To", bringing stars even closer to the exact center of the eyepiece. The Meade DS 2000 mount tracks objects to a higher precision, keeping these objects centered in the eyepiece for hours at a time without any need for adjustment. The design on the mount is two toned with "Meade Blue" highlights making it a real eye-catcher. The oversized clock knob is very easy to grip and tightens in place with ease.
