Leupold VX-III RilfescopesLeupold VX-III literally redefined high-performance when Leupold Rifle Scope first came on the scene. Leupold pushed the envelope with every aspect of riflescope's design and construction, inside and out, from the Index Matched Lens System for unparalleled brightness, clarity and contrast, to the Ballistic Aiming System for greater long-range accuracy. Was all this innovation and hard work worth the effort? Just ask the hunters and shooters who have proven the worth of Leupold VX-III Riflescope in hunts and competitions all around the globe. Or better yet, mount one on your favorite rifle, and see for yourself the results of a century’s worth of optical expertise.
A unique partnership brings you the first optical product to bear the Boone & Crockett name…
One of the most popular features of Leupold VX-III is the Ballistic Aiming System, comprised of two unique reticles designed to help big game and varmint hunters shoot accurately at long distance for clean kills. In the spirit of fair chase, Leupold worked with the Boone and Crockett Club in the development of one of the reticles in the system...a singular relationship that resulted in the first optical product ever to bear the Club’s name: the Boone and Crockett Big Game reticle.
VX-III
features:
• Finger-adjustable windage and elevation
dials
with resettable pointer
dials, marking the zero point.
• Three illuminated models
provide the reticle-to-target contrast you need when hunting in low light.
• Fast-focus eyepiece on all models. Models without the illuminated reticle have a lockable, fast-focus eyepiece so you can securely lock the eyepiece once you’ve set your reticle focus.
• Side focus parallax adjustment is standard on many models, so you can easily focus from any shooting position. • All side focus models have 30mm maintube with increased elevation and windage adjustments (up to 80 minutes of adjustment on some models).
Index Matched Lens System on VX-III riflescopes . Leupold users know that for a bright, crisp sight picture with good contrast in all light conditions, proper light management and maximum light transmission is absolutely critical. Leupold’s VX-III riflescopes feature the Index Matched Lens System, greatly improving upon what was already impeccable light management.
Here’s how the Leupold Index Matched Lens System works: Leupold engineers specified very low reflection of light at several key points across the range of colors that the human eye can see. Light that doesn’t reflect off the lens surfaces transmits through and contributes to a crisp, true-colored and brilliant image. The light that is transmitted does not bounce around inside the scope, causing glare that can degrade the contrast you want. Since dozens of different glass types are available to create a lens system that gives you the optical performance you need, the lens technicians had to pick just the right coating material for each individual lens surface, in order to meet the stringent specifications established by Leupold technical team. They also matched the ideal coating materials to each lens’ glass type and layered these different substances to minimize reflections and maximize performance. The result? You’ll get brightness and clarity like you’ve never seen before.
