Cabinets are configured to enhance safety, performance, and ergonomics, and are suitable for applications requiring Biosafety Level 1, 2, or 3 containment and ISO Class 5 (FED-STD-209E Class 100/M3.5) working conditions. Cabinets feature two HEPA filters that are 99.99% efficient for all particles >=0.3µm and a nominal face velocity of 105fpm.

Cabinets have an epoxy-coated exterior, a Type 304 stainless steel interior, and a unitized, 16-gauge stainless steel frame that minimizes the potential for leaks. Fully-closing, sliding sash is made of 6.4mm (1/4") thick tempered safety glass and provides tactile feedback to the operator when it has been raised to its optimal working height of 20.3cm (8") or 25.4cm (10"). An audible/visual alarm sounds when the sash is raised beyond these heights. Standard safety features have epoxy-coated orange key components. Located behind the front panel, a color-coded sash pocket encases the sash as it is raised and lowered. Pocket protects the user and the environment from contamination exposure from the interior side of the sash. All contaminated air is under negative pressure. Other features include a curved stainless steel airfoil with airflow slots, electrical duplex receptacles with ground fault interruption, and a safety color-coded towel catch and exhaust cap. Fluorescent lighting is standard. Interlocked UV light only operates when blower and fluorescent light are off and sash is closed.

All cabinets feature the Air-Wave* Entry System for enhanced performance. This system ensures smoother airflow into the work area, minimizes turbulence, and enhances containment. A ramped steel plenum captures inflow air, stabilizes it, and distributes it evenly across the worksurface. The Contain-Air* Negative Pressure Channel maximizes containment at the air gap between the top of the sash opening and the cabinet wall. A perforated exhaust filter cap provides balanced exhaust airflow. Sure-Start* voltage-compensating speed control provides 25 amp capacity and electronic adjustability.

Switches and alarm indicators are placed low to meet ADA requirements and reduce eye strain. The Minihelic* II pressure gauge is located in the user’s field of view. Curved airfoil supports the user’s arms. The front panel and 10° angled sash provide comfortable viewing without glare. The spacious interior features service fixtures mounted 22.9cm (9") above the work surface, maximizing usable surface area. Nonwelded, one-piece, removable dished work surface has smooth, radiused edges for easy cleaning.

All 115V safety cabinets are NSF, ETL, and ETL-C listed; 230V cabinets are NSF listed and CE marked.
