Protector* Multi-Hazard Glove Boxes, Labconco*

Provide a physical barrier for safe handling of hazardous materials, such as chemical carcinogens, biological agents, or radioisotopes. Accessory filter kits allow customization of filtration options to meet various applications. The single glove box is available with a one-piece molded fiberglass or stainless steel liner. The double glove box, available with stainless steel liner only, allows for simultaneous use by two technicians.

Built-in blower system is equipped with a variable speed motor to permit exhausting to the atmosphere without the use of an external blower. Inlet and outlet HEPA filters prevent particulates from entering the glove box chamber, and then trap contaminants before air is exhausted to the environment. Also available are optional second position HEPA exhaust filters for particulates and carbon exhaust filters for gaseous organic contaminants in low level radioisotope or chemical carcinogen applications. Glove box can be exhausted to the outside for an extra measure of protection. A 7.6cm (3") square exhaust collar connection is provided on the top of the unit for connecting to a duct work system.

Large observation window of 0.95cm (3/8") laminated safety glass measures 91.4Wx70.1H (36x275/8"), angled to 10° to minimize reflections. Window is mounted in a frame of epoxy-coated 12-gauge steel, and sealed with a one-piece molded dual seal neoprene gasket. A 30W fluorescent lamp provides glare-free interior lighting. Glove ports are 20.3cm (8") I.D., spaced on 43.1cm (17") centers.

Transfer chamber (mounted on the right side) permits easy transfer of materials and equipment. Counter-balanced outer and inner doors pivot upward to save space.

Single glove boxes include a pair of 76.2cm (30") long neoprene gloves (size 93/4); double glove boxes include two pairs of gloves. The 115V models include a 1.8m (6') three-wire cord/plug and two 115V outlets. 230V models include a 1.8m (6') three-wire cord (plug is required) and two 230V outlets.
