1 The illuminator incorporates a high-performance long-working-distance condenser with two operating positions: lower (W.D. 44mm) for observation of specimens in culture vessels, microtest and microtiter plates, etc., and upper (W.D. 110mm) for working with high profile flasks. 2 The aperture iris diaphragm and the slots for sliders, filters and polarizer are built in. 3 4 The Invertoscope's quadruple revolving nosepiece features a precision ball-bearing mechanism with click stops for parfocality, parcentricity and exact optical alignment, and has a wide knurled grip for easy rotation. 5 Smooth coaxial focusing is achieved by the Invertoscope's wer-resistant roller-rzce mechanism that virtually eliminates backlash and unwanted lateral shift of the specimen during focusing. One full revolution of the large knurled knobs corresponds to 6.5mm (coarse) and 0.250mm (fine) of the stage's vertical movement. The coarse focus has travel range of 19mm. The graduated micrometer knob allows vertical measurments accurate to 0.002mm. 6 The large, sturty 250mm x 265mm microscope base with four rubber feet, provides maximum stability and insulates Invertoscope microscope from vibrations - a particular advantage for photomicrography. |

Each INVERTOSCOPE microscope includes a series of four of the best objectives LOMO has ever produced. The TQA-Series Plan Achromats sport long working distances and the ability to look through glass up to 2.5mm thick, all while maintaining very high numerical apertures for superior resolution.
Microscope Illuminator System
The Illuminator system of the INVERTOSCOPE microscope incorporates a high-performance long-working-distance condenser capable of two operating positions: A a low position (W.D. 44mm) for the observation of specimens in petri dishes, microtest and microtiter plates, flat flasks, etc., and B an upper position (W.D. 110mm) for working with high-profile flasks, etc. The powerful 12V/50W halogen illumination system consists of a centerable and focusable bulb and a swing-out diffuser that yields bright, even illumination at all magnifications and for all contrast techniques.
Microscope Contrast Techniques
Every INVERTOSCOPE inverted biological microscope is equipped for Brightfield, Phase Contrast and Polarization. In addition, the INVERTOSCOPE microscope can also be ordered loaded with Differential Interference Contrast (DIC), which is used in cooperation with polarization to provide detailed pseudo-3D images, especially on cultures, smears and thin transparent liquids.
