Decatur Genesis VersaPak Directional GVP-D Radar is a handheld, cordless Radar Gun. Decatur Genesis Versa Pak Directional Police Radar Gun can isolate traffic in one direction. Direction selectivity has always been a feature of moving radar. As you know, in moving-mode (opposite direction), the radar only shows the speed of on-coming traffic. Similarly, same-direction moving mode only shows vehicles travelling in the same direction as the patrol car. Now, Decatur expands this direction selectivity to stationary radar gun. Unlike previous hand held radar guns, with Decatur GVPD Direction Sensing Radar Gun the operator can selectively monitor traffic coming toward, moving away, or both directions simultaneously!

When Decatur Genesis-VP Directional Radar Gun is in "directional" mode, vehicles moving toward you are indicated with a "t," vehicles moving away from you with an "A".
Directionality dramatically enhances the target selection process. If Decatur Police Radar GVP-D is set to "towards" mode, it will only track vehicles coming towards the radar. Decatur Genesis Versa Pak Directional Radar Gun isolates traffic in one direction. All vehicles going "away" are ignored!!
In heavy traffic situations, the operator can choose to make traffic moving in one direction "invisible" to Decatur Genesis VP Handheld Radar, thereby concentrating on the most problematic lane.
In other radars, "same direction" capability is added to the software to give the operator capability to read traffic moving in either direction while in moving mode.Decatur GVP Directional Radar Gun gives the operator the option to easily select and focus on vehicles going away from or coming toward him/her from a single, stationary patrol position.
The faster target feature is included and may be used simultaneously with directionality. Decatur Genesis VersaPak Directional Law Enforcement Radar Gun will identify the strongest target, and the next strongest target which is also going faster than the original target.

State Specific Law Enforcement Police Radar Guns Regulations

Florida: All Police Radars and Law Enforcement Radar Guns must include special "Florida Software". Please contact us when you place your order for a traffic radar or radar trailer to be used a Florida Law Enforcement agency. You must request Florida software at time of order.
North Carolina: No "Faster Target" or "Time Distance (Stopwatch)" modes are allowed in Police Traffic Enforcement Radars. Pre-approval testing required on new models. Genesis I and Genesis II, Genesis VP & GVP-D are currently approved. No Same Direction. You must request North Carolina software at time of order
Connecticut: Hand-held Police radar guns in all forms are outlawed for use by law enforcement agencies. In-car Moving Radars are allowed. Police Radar units must have waterproof antennas and be mounted outside of the patrol vehicle.
Pennsylvania: Stationary Police radars only for use by Law Enforcement agencies. Only State Police are allowed to use police radar for enforcement purposes. On rare occasion, municipal Law Enforcement agencies will purchase a stationary police radar (generally a hand-held device or a speed trailer) to use for conducting speed studies.
