Product Category Description:

For determination of the quantity of oxygen required to oxidize reduced compounds, including organic matter, in a water sample using EPA-approved micro C.O.D. method (US EPA Method 410.4).

Test involves mixing sample with a specific oxidizing agent and catalyst, digesting 2 hrs. at 150°C, followed by spectrophotometric measurement of absorbance.

The 16mm O.D. borosilicate glass digestion tubes are of high optical quality with uniform glass walls. Come pre-filled with sufficient digestion reagent for low, standard or high C.O.D. range samples. Supplied with leak-resistant screw caps. Tubes are packed in modular packs for easy stacking. Designed for samples with low chloride and ammonia levels. Mercury-free reagents are available for non-reporting purposes.

Sturdy, compact C.O.D. heater blocks automatically maintain correct digestion temperature of 150° ±2°C, (302° ±3.6°F) and operate with simple on/off power switch. Available for 15 or 30 tubes. Use screw-cap digestion tubes. 16mm tube adapters for popular spectrophotometers and C.O.D. data management software sold separately.
