Product Category Description:

Forced convection ovens are ideal for sterilization and drying processes, heat treatments, thermal storage, and thermal testing. These ovens maintain homogeneous temperature distribution and symmetrical airflow in the entire inner chamber, securing precise heating results, while the short recovery time after door opening decreases temperature fluctuation. The high rate of air transfer and minimal heat-up time ensure exceptionally fast and intensive drying performance, especially on materials with high moisture content. Through the 50mm (2") diameter exhaust duct and the adjustable ventilation slide, vapors are quickly eliminated, preventing condensation in the inner chamber.

The inner chamber is made of Type 304 stainless steel and has rounded edges and internally welded seams for easy cleaning. The interior is completely tempered, which prevents condensation and ensures that moisture deposits will not impair drying results. High-quality insulation reduces heat dissipation, which contributes to an active reduction in ambient temperature and helps avoid the need for additional air conditioning in the lab. The low external housing temperature of 50°C maximum (even at working temperatures of 300°C) means that burns are avoided. The integral thermostat is rated Class 2, according to DIN 12880, Part 1.

FD models feature microprocessor PID controller, degree-accurate temperature adjustment, digital timer, one ramp function, and an LED display for time and temperature. A powerful fan is provided for air circulation. In FED models, in place of the fan, increased air circulation is achieved with a powerful yet quiet, digitally adjustable air turbine. FED models also feature a microprocessor PID controller, degree-accurate temperature adjustment, digital timer, one ramp function, and an LED display for time, temperature, and adjustable fan speed settings. All FED models include an RS-422 interface port.

The 115 and 208V models are UL listed. The 230V models are CE marked.

Ordering Information: The 240L, 400L, and 720L ovens feature double doors to conserve lab bench space. The 720L ovens feature four lockable casters. The 20L ovens include one chrome-plated shelf; all other ovens include two chrome-plated shelves. FED series include an RS-422 interface port. Connecting the oven to a printer or PC through this port requires an interface converter; contact your VWR representative for more information.
