You can also purchase American Optical prescription sunglasses from our on-line eyewear store and we will prepare custom made Rx lenses grounded to your prescription and fit them into 100% authentic American Optical sunglasses frames.

In 1958, AO developed the Flight Goggle 58, now known as the Original Pilot Sunglass (or OPS) for the U.S. Air Force. More than 45 years have passed and the AO Original Pilot Sunglasses remain the top preference of pilots due to its maximum protection, optical performance and comfort. In fact, American Optical Original Pilot Sunglass was honored to be the first ever sunglass to be brought up to the moon with the crew of the Eagle lunar landing in 1969.
